Ben-Gurion Day (Hebrew: יום בן‐גוריון) is an Israeli national holiday observed annually on the sixth of the Hebrew month of Kislev, commemorating the life and vision of Zionist leader and Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion. The date marks the anniversary of Ben-Gurion’s death. The holiday was established by the Knesset through the Ben-Gurion Law, which mandates memorial services in Israeli institutions, IDF bases, and schools.
