Rabbi Daniel Price

Rabbi Daniel Price holds a B.A. in Music/Communications from Plattsburgh State University, a Master of Jewish Education from Hebrew College, and received Rabbinic Ordination from the Academy for Jewish Religion in New York. With over two decades of experience as a Rabbi, Educator, and Song Leader in Connecticut, Daniel has also served as the Rabbi-in-Residence at Kol Ami in Tucson.

 

He fell in love with Tucson while training for bicycle events and bought a home there in 2018, joining Or Chadash. For the past seven years, he has led High Holy Day Services as Rabbi and Cantorial soloist on Block Island, RI. Last winter, he served as the interim Rabbi/Cantorial soloist at Congregation Beth Shalom-Rodfe Tzedek in Chester, CT.

 

Beyond his rabbinical duties, Daniel works as the Controller for the Academy for Jewish Religion in New York. Before his rabbinical ordination, he enjoyed a

21-year career as a television producer/director in New York.

Cantorial Soloist Eliyanah Powers

Eliyanah Powers holds a Doctor of Musical Arts and a Master of Music from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts from Adams State University, Colorado. Her diverse career includes roles as Cantorial Soloist, Children’s Choir Director, and Music Director for various organizations.

 

Eliyanah has taught at Ballard County Middle and High School in Kentucky, North Carolina Central University, and the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she directed the Opera Program and produced numerous productions. She has also served as an Assistant Professor of Music at Hastings College, Nebraska.

 

She has two grown sons, David and Mateo, who live in Kentucky. Eliyanah enjoys science fiction, particularly Star Trek, and is a fan of authors like Iain M. Banks and Louise Penny. Her faithful companion is a black Labrador retriever named Mac Labs

Pianist Accompanist Rouzbeh Tebyanian

Rouzbeh Tebyanian is a pianist accompanist, composer, and music director based in Tucson, Arizona. Originally from Iran, he brings a rich cultural perspective to his work, shaped by both Persian and Western musical traditions. With over two decades of experience in sacred music, performance, and education, he currently serves as Director of Music and Pianist at Santa Catalina Catholic Church, where he provides music for weekly services and ceremonies, collaborating closely with vocalists and instrumentalists across a range of ensembles.

A skilled collaborator and recitalist, Rouzbeh studied piano performance at the University of Arizona under Dr. Paula Fan and has since performed widely in concert halls, churches, and community venues throughout Arizona. His work also includes original film scores for a number of independent productions. Known for his expressive touch and musical sensitivity, Rouzbeh brings depth, nuance, and versatility to every project he undertakes.

Joy Erickson has a long history of commitment to the Jewish community, both in Utah and now in SaddleBrooke, where she relocated with her husband Bill in 2022. Her recent volunteer work includes seven years on the Board of Jewish Family Service of Utah, including two years as President, during which she led significant organizational growth.

 

Joy has served as Director of Membership and Volunteer Outreach at Temple Har Shalom, and held positions with United Way of Salt Lake, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, and the American Heart Association in Utah. In 2018, she was honored by the United Jewish Federation of Utah for her leadership and dedication to the Jewish community and Israel.

 

Joy’s professional experience includes roles in real estate, computer technology, and biotechnology. She has served on the Westminster College Foundation Board and the Davis County Board of Health.

 

Joy holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kent State University and a Certificate in Integrated Marketing Communication from the University of Utah. She and her husband have two adult sons and four grandchildren.

Barry Gilbert

Vice President

Barry and his wife, Marcia, came to SaddleBrooke in 2023 as snowbirds, spending about half the year here and the remainder on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Over the years, they have frequently visited southern Arizona and grown to appreciate its unique climate, culture, food, and people, while also seeking out opportunities to engage in Jewish life throughout the region.

 

A native Bostonian, Barry has been involved in Jewish life from a young age, including serving as president of USY and participating in numerous activities supporting Israel. He earned his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and later completed an MBA at Clark University. These experiences laid the groundwork for a career in high technology, during which he co-founded a research and consulting firm in the mid-1990s. The firm was acquired in 2022, at which point Barry retired from professional life.

 

Married in 1985, Barry and Marcia settled in the Metrowest Boston area, where they raised their son, Josh, and were long-time members of Temple Israel of Natick. Today, Barry maintains an active lifestyle in SaddleBrooke, enjoying many of the community’s amenities, including pickleball, hiking, and bocce. He is deeply committed to helping B’nai Midbar grow and to supporting a vibrant Jewish community throughout the greater North Tucson area.

Pam Crowe Weisberg 

Treasurer

Pam Crowe Weisberg brings more than 30 years of executive leadership, strategic vision, and cultural stewardship to everything she does. She began her career in New York City’s fashion industry, starting in the prestigious Executive Training Program at Bloomingdale’s. Pam went on to work with an impressive range of brands and organizations, including Christian Dior, Liz Claiborne, and others, while also building a reputation for discovering and championing designers who went on to build some of the most influential and successful companies in the global fashion industry.

 

Driven by a deep passion for art and history, Pam later earned a Master’s degree in Museum Studies from the Fashion Institute of Technology, with a focus on textiles and costumes. In 2000, she and her husband, Jonathan, moved to Park City, Utah, where she served for many years as Executive Director of the renowned Kimball Art Center and Kimball Arts Festival, playing a key role in expanding the organization’s impact, visibility, and community reach.

 

Pam was subsequently tapped to serve as Executive Director of the Monterey History and Art Museum and its historic homes in Monterey, California, where she continued her work preserving cultural heritage and strengthening community engagement. She has also remained deeply involved in the arts through volunteer leadership, including service with the Utah Museum of Fine Arts and eventually as a docent for the museum. She has served on the board of a Utah-based dance company and the Utah Arts Council.

 

Pam has two grown daughters and 4 grandchildren.

 

In August 2025, as a recent widow, Pam relocated full-time to Tucson, where she enjoys swimming, hiking, yoga, Mah Jongg, studying Spanish, knitting, and traveling. She is excited to serve as Treasurer of B’nai MidBar and looks forward to making a meaningful, lasting impact in the community.

Susan was born and married in London. She and her husband Alan z”l moved to the States in 1970 and lived in many locations over the years, including the USA, Denmark, Germany and Canada.  

 

Susan has had a commitment to Hadassah for fifty plus years; she was a chapter president twice and SE Region President.

 

She has a degree in computer science, 

and was a computer programmer in both 

the banking and health care industries.

 

Susan is looking forward to serving on the 

Board of B’nai Midbar as it grows and 

thrives in the years ahead.

Esta Goldstein was born and raised in the Jewish neighborhood of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, NY. Despite not receiving formal Jewish education, she celebrated Jewish traditions and holidays with her large family. Esta’s early life included working various jobs while attending Hunter College.

 

After graduating, she married her high school sweetheart, who was studying at New York University Dental School. Following his graduation, they moved to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, where Esta taught school and had her first child. This move marked the beginning of her deeper engagement with Judaism.

 

In New Jersey, Esta and her husband became active members of a conservative temple, both serving on the board, with her husband directing the Hebrew school and Esta serving as Sisterhood President.

 

Relocating to SaddleBrooke in 1995 due to her husband’s health, they joined the Institute of Jewish Services and Studies. Esta has since been involved with the Jewish Federation and the Northwest Jewish Community. It has been an honor for her to serve as Chairperson of Congregation B’nai Midbar, where she continues to learn and grow in her Judaism.

Herb Cohn has demonstrated a profound commitment to congregational life throughout their adult years. extensive involvement includes roles such as Sunday School Teacher, Committee Member, and Board Member, culminating in two terms as President. Since relocating to Arizona in 2006, Herb has made significant contributions to Congregation Or Chadash and Temple Emanu-El, including the establishment of Scout Troop 613. Their experience as Secretary of the Board at Congregationit Simcha highlights their dedication to fostering growth and stability within the community.

Herb believes that his background and abilities will be valuable to those in leadership, aiding the congregation's growth and stability. Despite living on the other side of the city, his commitment to actively participate in B’nai Midbar makes the distance seem insignificant. He also cherishes the friendships formed when he joined IJSS 12 ago, during Cantor Sarah Bollt's time as Cantorial Soloist, and looks forward to expanding his connections to include new members of the IJSS/B’nai Midbar community as it continues to grow.

Leslie Klipper Stewart

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Leslie Klipper Stewart moved to Saddlebrooke Ranch after 13 years in Bend/Sunriver, Oregon. Before that, she lived in San Diego, CA for over 30 years, where she was a college professor of Communication and Journalism at Miramar College.

Besides teaching college (which she loved), Leslie has also held corporate positions as a promotion manager for a mid-sized corporation in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was an on-air intern at WGBH radio in Boston in the 70's. She worked in sales and as a copywriter. Additionally, she coached personal growth seminars in the 2000s.

Leslie is also an accomplished metalsmith and jewelry designer, and her work was sold in a gallery in Sunriver, Oregon.

Growing up in Winthrop, Mass. (a first-ring suburb of Boston), Leslie was raised at Temple Tifereth Israel. She graduated from Hebrew School there. The daughter of a Holocaust survivor, Judaism was respected and ingrained in her brothers and herself.

Leslie has a variety of skills honed by years of education and work experience. Among those skills are quantitative and qualitative data analysis, project management, people management, survey writing, design and analysis, strong writing skills, magazine and newspaper design, and a strong work ethic. Additionally, Leslie was editor of The Highlander, the newsletter of the Cairn Terrier Club of America, for 6 years. She also served on the Board of the Cairn Terrier Club for 6 years. Furthermore, Leslie was the faculty advisor to the award-winning student newspaper of Miramar College, The Sage, for 28 years. She served on several hiring committees, Chair of Chairs, and won numerous awards for educational innovation.

 

Leslie will bring all this and more to the board. She is a hard worker, respects deadlines and is creative.

Bonnie Lasky

Bonnie Lasky spent 47 years in the Air Force as a brat and wife, living in 35 locations, including Germany and Israel, where she worked on a Kibbutz. She attended San Francisco State University and UC Davis, and had a 40-year career in hospital administration, culminating as the Systemwide Medical Risk Manager at the University of California Office of the President. After retiring, she became a volunteer to educate seniors about end-of-life choices. As President of Congregation Shir Shalom in Sonoma, she improved the congregation's community communication by creating their e-newsletter and website.

 

Bonnie's husband for 27 years, Henry Lasky, a Federal Judge, passed away in 2016. In 2017, she met Irv Rothenberg in a Santa Rosa senior community where they both lived, and bonded over their escape from the Santa Rosa fires. They collaborated as members of the Sutter Health Board and together created End-of-Life programs for the Lifelong Learning program at Sonoma State. They faced two additional evacuations due to fires, which led them to relocate to SaddleBrooke in 2021 and married in 2024.

 

Currently, Bonnie serves on the Board of Congregation B’nai Midbar, managing the e-newsletter and website. She and Irv support educational programs for the University of Arizona's Department of Geriatrics, Palliative, and Hospice Care, the DAISY Foundation, the Sutter’s Senior Health Clinic, the Tucson JCC, and the Jewish Family and Children’s Services, San Francisco’s Jewish Museum - Holocaust Education.

 

She is committed to CSM’s programs, serving as an integrated member of the Northwest community and providing educational programs, support services, and exciting adventures for members.
